Directorate General: Doordarshan is in the process of installing remotely controllable / operatable and monitorable 500 W UHF / VHF Transmitter in 1+1 mode.

The operation of the complete transmitting station is controlled by a microprocessor based station controlled unit. The station-controlled unit facilitates operation without operating personnel and "switches ON" the redundant transmitter in case failure of other transmitter. Remote control and monitoring of the station is to be provided by a modem connected to the SCU. Monitoring persons can dial in to the status using the remote control software running on a PC from a Remote Place to operate and monitor the Transmitter System.

WML has developed such system indigenously, which includes transmitter in 1+1 configuration, automatic switching unit and station control unit to control and monitor the transmitter remotely. The developed system has been integrated with DG Set, designed and customized AMF Panel, UPS, and AVR etc.

WML has already supplied 2 such units to the satisfaction of DG: DD as prototype and now executing an order for 25 nos. of such 500 W LPT in 1+1 configuration along with all the required Station Items.
