| Age relaxation - 15 years; grace marks up to 12%. No fees are charged for medical certificate required for the purpose of employment. Government of Kerala grants conveyance allowance of Rs. 75/- per month to Handicapped employees including the blind. This benefit has been extended to employees in Government Services, aided schools, boards and corporations and public undertakings. |

DPI Kerala provides equipment and raw material up to a maximum of Rs. 2000/- subject to the income limit of Rs. 5000/- per annum. Department of Social welfare provides Rs. 500/- for running small trade or business. Kerala Federation of the Blind provides financial assistance up to Rs. 2000/- for self-employment. Blind advocates are granted ex gratia grant of Rs. 2500/- for the purchase of books and Rs. 400/- per month as reader's allowance for three years or till the income exceeds Rs. 18000/-, whichever is earlier. |
