The
Govt. of Tamilnadu (Vide its notification No. GOMS No. 387 dated 28th
March 1980) allows blind children to travel free of cost in the buses
of the Pallavan Transport Corporation (Metro). The Corporation issues
point to point bus passes for children to travel from their place of residence
to schools/hospitals and back on production of certificate either from
the head of the educational institution of from the Medical officer of
a Government Hospital about the nature of permanent physical impairment.
