PHONE-IN PROGRAMME CONSOLE
The Phone-in-Program Console is used to interface telephone lines with the broadcast mixing console which in-turn interfaces with the expert sitting in a studio. This unit has provision for receiving three telephone lines at a time. The system is based on the design developed by R&D department, All India Radio.

The incoming calls on the telephone lines are visually indicated by LEDs corresponding to each of the three telephone lines and a common ring flasher LED. The phone-in-program co-coordinator can talk to the listener by using the telephone switcher of each telephone line and telephone hand set. Then he can hold the telephone line for the listener and feed music to the listener during the waiting period. At the appropriate time in the program, the listener can be connected to the expert sitting in the broadcast studio by using telephone switcher.
The listener's query, the expert's response and the conversation between the listener and the expert can be broadcast live. When the interaction is on, the phone-in-program co-coordinator can co-ordinate with other listeners on the other two telephone lines and hold the lines. Then he can transfer them to the expert at the arrival of their turn.

Over Voltage Protection : Input 1 and Input 2 are provided with protection against transients.
