Unattended, Solar Power, operated TV Transmission system is not a new concept and is found effective to serve isolated areas of the country. The advantage of this kind of installation is that it does not need whole time technical staff to operate the system and can be installed almost at any place with ease.

Working of the system envisages TV reception from INSAT Series Satellites in S/C-Band and retransmit the TV signals in the normal TV Broadcast band after necessary processing. The entire system operates on rechargeable battery bank, which gets charged through an array of Solar Photovoltaic Panels. A normal installation with ominidirectional antenna is expected to serve the community living within 15 KM radius. The system has also capability to work on 230V A. C. This manual gives broad description of the unattended operation of the overall system, specifications, interconnection diagram and installation details of the Dual 50W TV Transmitter system.
