WIMATS

Webel Mediatronics and ICEVI Mathematics Transcription Software
Webel Mediatronics Limited (WML) and International Council for Education of People with Visual Impairment (ICEVI) has jointly developed this software to transcript Mathematical and Scientific text input into Braille Script. The software was launched formally during 12th World Conference of ICEVI at Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur on 17th July 2006. On 19th July 2006 a 'hands on' training program on the software was arranged at a workshop in the conference.

Supports input of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, vector, set notations and Greek alphabets.

WIMATS is an application software to transcribe Mathematical and Scientific Text into Braille as per Nemeth Braille standard.

The application helps in publishing Mathematics and Science books in Braille for the education of Visually Impaired students.

WIMATS can't perform any mathematical operation but through it any visual impaired person can make mathematical equation and can transcribe that equation into it's corresponding braille code.

 a) Easy and User-Friendly interface to input Mathematical Symbols.

 b) Single Mouse click operation to convert Text to Braille.

 c) Mathematical symbols to braille codes as per Nemeth Braille standard and English as per literary Braille.

 d) Braille file can also be edited in Six Key Mode, saved and re-opened.

 e) Content of the Braille file can be embossed using Windows 2000 / XP compatible standard Braille Embossers.

 f) Take Braille Print from Index D Embosser.

 g) Keyboard support for all operations.
